2007 Dayne

January 2, 2008

Dayne just turned 4 years old.  He is the only one I have left all day at home with me.  The first month of school he didn’t know what to do with himself.  He’d go outside for 2 minutes in for 5 and back out, and when the alarm would go off on the stove to tell us it was time to go get Anthony he was sure to let me know.  He has adapted though and there are many days he wants to stay home instead of go with me to get him.  Unfortunately he thinks he’s old enough to stay by himself.  He started gymnastics this year and they quickly realized he was Catrina’s brother he can pull himself up and over the bar and do straight leg pullups, and one day they caught him doing backwards rolls,  likely to say they hadn’t started teaching those yet.  In fact he’s so comfortable at gymnastics that he doesn’t mind stripping his clothes and letting it all hang out.  Likely to say the coaches say it’s never a dull moment and they definitely know when someone says who’s kid is that that they don’t even need to look up, it’s a Russ kid.  Dayne loves Superman, and Nascar (Dale JR) to be specific, just like mom.  He likes chasing and antagonizing the cat and dogs, poor Chloe, Rainbow, and Goldie.  Mainly he just likes being his stubborn, dramatic, I’m my own man and can do it myself, Dayner.  Lord help us and anyone else who gets in his way……………

2007 Anthony

January 2, 2008

Anthony is now in Kindergarten at Calvary Christian School.  He was in t-ball this past spring and seemed to enjoy it.  He is quite dedicated considering right before his first practice he got cactus covering the bottoms of both feet, and still ran the bases and batted and ran after balls, quite a trooper.  (more…)

2007 Catrina

January 2, 2008

Catrina is a 2nd grader at Calvary Christian School.  She has been active with Upward Basketball, a Christian based league, soccer- go Eagles which Daddy coaches, and her primary love gymnastics.  She made pre-team this past June after working really hard for months to get 5 straight leg pullups down.  (more…)

2007 Veronica

January 2, 2008

Veronica is a 4th grader now at Calvary Christian School, go Eagles.  She played soccer and softball this past year and basketball for Calvary this past fall.  Took tennis lessons this past summer and has found she is definitely more of and individual sport player vs. a team sport, flower picker syndrome.  Plus she surprised us when we took the kids golfing over vacation week this past summer, she can really whack the ball and has pretty good accuracy.  (more…)

2007 Brenna

January 2, 2008

Bren is now a 7th grader at West Middle School, go WOLVES.  She is active in Softball,  which she has quite a knack for.  Kind of an overall utility player, and started pitching this last season becoming a primary player.  Her hitting improved after a major slump from 2006 season,  she even hit a couple triples.  Basketball camp and games, she’s actually hitting some outside shots, much improved.  And she made a Challenge Soccer team, scored a couple goals and saved several as goalie,  but we think Bren needed tis season of soccer to make up her mind that she likes softball more since she’s going to try out for the Steven’s High School team fall 2008 and soccer is the same season.  She went out for track this past spring and enjoyed and did well with shot and disc which makes Greg happy. 2007 UPDATE

January 2, 2008

Greg continues to work at the public library as their residential computer geek.  OK , OK his actual description is network manager, but I like mine better.  He coached Veronica in her last soccer season last spring, and continues with Catrina’s team still.  he also tried his hand at Veronica’s softball.  THis past summer he got to golf about once a week which was good for him.  Not much time was spent on the lake as we’re still in drought conditions so there’s really not enough water plus kids activities kept us busy.  no camping either which we’re hoping to rectify summer 2008.
